Why do'nt we see the saints believing in Wahdat al wajud today?

Assalam u alayekum!
This is my first post on this blog. So, i hope you people will ignore me if i make any mistakes or do not come up to your taste.
First i'll talk about the ideo of Wahdat Al Wajud. What was it?
Wahdat al Wajud means that there is no being in the universe other than Allah.Since the creations are created by Allah, they do not possess their independant identity. They have their identity due to their creator, the Lord of Heavens and the Earths. The part of a thing cant be called apart from that thing but it cant be called that thing exactly.
For Example,Zaid's hand is a part of his body it is not apart from his body but it wont be called as his body.
This was a brief introduction. Now i come to the subject of this post that why it was abandoned?or why do'nt we see the believers of Wahdat al wajuud today?
Actually Wahdat ul Wajud was very famous among Sufiya and Auliya and in fact i could'nt find the mention of Wahdat ash shahuud before the era of syedna Mujaddid Alif Saani Rehmat Ullah Alaye hi.Syedna Mujaddid Alf Sani RehmatUllah alaye hi,Qaddas Sirrahul Aziz introduced this theory because when the theory of Wahdat al Wajud came out of dergaahs and common people like me and you started discussing it,it becaeme difficut for those common people to get such a big concept. They started giving kufriya statements and interpretations out of it.
So, in such a time Syedna Mujaddid Alf Saani RehmatUllah alaye hi,Qaddas Sirrahul Aziz introduced the concept of shahuud.but as per my knowledge he did'nt deny wahdat al wajuud either. So,people were not willing to accept this new concept.some so-called ulema and sufiya which are present in every age ,made allegations and fatawa gainst him.But with the passage of time this ideology got importance in all orders among which are Chishtiya and its branches and Naqshbandiya and its branches are most prominent. So when this situation prevailed Wahdat ash Shahuud prevailed among Sufiya.

Note:
I had read a hadith according to which pondering upon Allah's zaat (i.e how is he etc.) is prohibited in Islam rather pondering in siffaat (qualities) is encouraged. This may be also one of the reasons that why Syedna Mujaddid Alf Sani RehmatUllah alaye hi,Qaddas Sirrahul Aziz introduced it.
And a true believer of any of these actually does'nt make takfeer (to declare apostate/kaafir) of other. But in my opinion Wahdat Al Wajuud is not something which common people like us can grasp easily in our minds.and if we don'nt understand it and claim that we are the believers of Wahdat Al Wajuud that would be something unfair according to me.

First i must appreciate your opinion, knowledge and writing. Then i would like to share one thiing more i.e. there are diffrent levels of understanding. First there comes "Tauheed". Then "exploring sifaat" then Wahat ul Shahood and last is Wahdat ul wajood.... Then level of "fanaa" starts.
Anyway nice article. Keep it up Hussain Shah....

exactly.but i personally think that fana is'nt mere a thing to understand.it is something which can be experienced and Sufiya in their times have experienced it.
and after fana comes Baqaa.and the most of the Sufiya prefer Baqa over fana.because in Baqa the seeker is experincing Fanaa as well i.e his heart is in rememberance of Allah every moment although he is physically present among people and in his senses.
